No Longer Just Water

To be someone else was the mask I wanted.

Nothing more than to be water fitting into the mold you gave me.

I wanted to be water so bad,
I wanted to quench the thirst you craved when you were parched from life,
when the world took from you I wanted to replenish you.
I wanted to be water so bad
I wanted to wash over you and cleanse your soul.
Purify the muck you built around you as defense.
I wanted to be water so bad
and you were thirsty for a while,

but I realized I'm not water

I'm the wind that blows and whisper sweet songs

I'm the fire that burns with passion and strength

I'm the Earth lush and bountiful

I'm greater than the mold you have laid out for me.
